Text display
The user interface display panel at the top of the telephone always displays its current status (e.g. dialling
internally), the type of procedure currently called up, as well as the time and date. Enabled or active
facilities are shown as a symbol or in text form. If several facilities are activated at the same time, this is
indicated by an asterisk at the top, right-hand corner or the display. In this case, you can browse through the
display (cf. page C-6).
The following symbols may appear in the display:
S
for mute switch (microphone is switched off)
h
for operation using headset
L
for hands-free/loudspeaker operation
c
for set appointment
m
for an incoming message
When internal calls are received, the display will show the number, and (if set up) the name of the caller. For
an external call, the display may show ”External calls“ or the number of the caller (in ISDN connection). In
order to keep a check on charges, the cost or the duration of the call is displayed during the call (if this faci-
lity is programmed).
Flag display
Here, symbols (flags) which are allocated to the key are displayed either above or below the key,
respectively. If these keys are programmed as INTERNAL, EXTERNAL, TEAM or PARTNER keys, the symbols
indicate various functions, e.g. calls, so that you know which key to press. The following section explains
the meaning of these various symbols.
