This section contains additional procedures that may be required to configure your
system.
Enabling DAS Cache
Determine whether DAS Cache configuration is required
Use the iDRAC web utility to determine whether DAS Cache configuration is required.
This is determined by the mix of disks that are on the server.
Before you begin
Ensure that you have:
l
The IP address of the BMC (iDRAC) port
l
The username and password for accessing the BMC (iDRAC)
Procedure
1. From your Internet browser, go to http://
<BMC/iDRAC_IP_address>.
2. In the DELL Console Login window, type the username and password, and click
Login.
3. In the navigation pane, select the Physical Disks node under Storage.
A table located under Health and Properties displays the physical disk
information. The disk type is written under the Media Type column.
4. Check the media type of all the devices.

If the node has both HDDs and SSDs, you must configure DAS Cache.

If the node has only HDDs or only SSDs, you do not need to install DAS
Cache. Proceed to deploying VxFlex OS. For instructions, see the
