Changing X-band Circular Polarization
Prerequisites

Find a clean working environment that will not pollute the RF components.

Make sure that the Power Supply is disconnected from the source.
To switch between Left Hand Circular Polarization (LHCP) and Right Hand Circular Polariza-
tion (RHCP), disconnect and rotate the OMT/polarizer on the Q-Series.
Tools:

Hex wrench, 2.5 mm and 3 mm
1. Locate the OMT/Polarizer and using the Hex wrench, remove the eight (8) screws fastening it to
the feed system.
2. Using the Hex wrench, locate the eight (8) screws attaching the waveguides to the BUC and
partly remove them.
3. Using the Hex wrench, locate the eight (8) screws attaching the waveguides to the RF Filter and
partly remove them.
Do! Disconnect the power to the Q-Seriesto avoid any damages to the equipment.
Warning! The RF gaskets (O-ring) or feed system may be damaged if you fail to fol-
low the instructions below.
