Start Up Connect
When the PowerScan BT8300 is in Handheld-Cradle, Serial Port Profile (Master) or HID Profile mode, scanning Enable
Start Up Connect will allow the PowerScan BT8300 reader to auto-connect with the paired device when the reader starts
up. The paired device is the device to which PowerScan BT8300 reader makes connection successfully in each
Communication Type.
The paired device information will automatically be deleted from the PowerScan BT8300 if the reader is restored to factory
settings, changes power class, changes communication types or if unpairing is performed.
The green LED on the reader will blink when it tries to make the start up connection. If the connection is successful, four
ascending beeps will be emitted and the green LED will stop blinking; Otherwise, four descending beeps will be emitted.
5.9.5 Auto
Reconnect
When the PowerScan BT8300 is in Handheld-Cradle, Serial Port Profile (Master) or HID Profile mode, if Auto Reconnect
is enabled the reader will automatically attempt to reconnect to a paired device after a disconnection occurs due to the
radio losing communication. This can happen if the reader goes out of range with the paired device, or if the paired device
powers down. The reader makes the reconnection attempt for the period of time specified by the Reconnect Attempt
Interval and Reconnect Attempt Mode settings.
The green LED on the reader will blink as it attempts to make the reconnection. If the connection is successful, four
ascending beeps will be emitted and green LED will stop blinking. If the reconnection process fails due to a page timeout,
four descending beeps will be emitted.
5.9.6
Reconnect Attempt Interval
When the PowerScan BT8300 reader disconnects as it goes out of range or the remote device is powered down, the
BT8300 immediately attempts to reconnect for the time interval specified using Time Reconnect. This time interval can be
set to one of the following options:
1

setting.
