With the S2A9550 ready, press the Enter key in the terminal window to get the S2A9550
system prompt.
2.3.4 Login as Administrator
The default Administrator account name is “admin” and its default password is
“password”. (See Section 3.2 for information on how to change the user and
administrator passwords.) Only users with administrator rights are allowed to change the
S2A configuration.
To login,

login admin

2.3.5 Setting System Time & Date
The system time and date for the S2A9550 are factory-configured for U.S. Pacific
Standard Time. This needs to be changed if you are located in other time zones so that the
time stamps for all events are correct. In dual mode, changes should always be made on
Unit 1. New settings are automatically applied to both units.
To change the system date to March 1, 2005, for example, type:
date 3 1 2005

To change the system time to 2:15:32pm, for example, type:
time 14:15:32
<Enter>
2.3.6 Setting Tier Mapping Mode
The S2A9550 supports various FC-AL drive enclosures. When the system is first
configured, it is necessary to select a tier mapping mode for the attached enclosures. This
tells the S2A9550 how the tiers are laid out with respect to the drives’ AL_PA. Hence, the
system can correctly light the drive’s LED and provide visual indication of a specific
drive, tier, and LUN.
The S2A9550 currently supports the DataDirect Networks SF, SA, and SAF families of
drive enclosures. During bootup, the system checks whether the selected mapping mode
is compatible with the attached enclosures. If the selected mode is incorrect, the
S2A9550 displays a message.
To display the current mapping mode, type:
tier map
