Feature
Description
Guest VLAN
The “Guest VLAN“ would be the “untagged” VLAN of ports in the
unauthorized state. An administrator would be able to use this
VLAN for guests, or to manage stations that are currently not
authorized. The VLAN would be defined with limited access.
IGMP Snooping
IGMP Snooping examines IGMP frame contents, when they are
forwarded by the device from work stations to an upstream Multi-
cast router. From the frame, the device identifies work stations
configured for Multicast sessions, and which Multicast routers are
sending Multicast frames.
IGMP Snooping Querier
Enabling periodic query of all multicast group members on
specified VLAN/VLANs in networks without layer3 multicast
router
.
IP Source address guard
IP source guard is a security feature that restricts IP traffic on
non-routed, Layer 2 interfaces by filtering traffic based on the
DHCP snooping binding database and on manually configured IP
source bindings.
IP source guard can be used to prevent traffic attacks caused
when a host tries to use the IP address of its neighbor.
Jumbo frames
Support for 10K jumbo frames.
LACP
LACP uses peer exchanges across links to determine, on an
ongoing basis, the aggregation capability of various links, and
continuously provides the maximum level of aggregation
capability achievable between a given pair of systems. LACP
automatically determines, configures, binds and monitors the port
binding within the system.
LLDP and LLDP-MED
Support for LLDP and LLDP-MED extensions and behavior
requirements in the areas of network configuration and policy,
device location (including for Emergency Call Service / E911),
Power over Ethernet management, and inventory management
Link Aggregated Groups
Link Aggregated Group (LAG). The system provides up-to eight
Aggregated Links may be defined, each with up to eight member
ports, to form a single. LAGs provide: • Fault tolerance protection
from physical link disruption • Higher bandwidth connections •
Improved bandwidth granularity • High bandwidth server
connectivity LAG is composed of ports with the same speed, set
to full-duplex operation
LAG Configurable Balancing
Provides an option to configure LAG (Trunk) Load Balancing
either according to MAC SA/DA or MAC SA/DA and IP SA/DA or
only IP SA/DA.
MAC Address Capacity Support
The device supports up to 8K MAC addresses. The device
reserves specific MAC addresses for system use.
