Purpose 

Used to configure a name for the switch. 

Syntax 

config snmp system_name <sw_name> 

Description 

This command is used to give the switch an 
alpha-numeric name of up to 128 
characters. 

Parameters 

<sw_name> 

 An alpha-numeric name for 

the switch of up to 128 characters. 

Restrictions 

Only administrator-level users can issue 
this command.
