that the battery(ies) are safely installed and the terminals have insulation(s).
9.1.1
Make sure that you use batteries with the correct specifications listed below:

The minimum battery specification is 175 Ah or 1150 CCA

The recommended specification is 200 Ah or 1500CCA

Any battery connected to the outboard electrical circuit, must be of AGM (absorbed glass
mat) type.
9.2.0
Make sure that the main power cable that is connected from the battery to the outboard has
a minimum cross-sectional area of 70mm² or 00 gauge. The insulation must be rated to a
minimum temperature of 105°C.
9.3.0
Make sure that the breakers are turned to the OFF position and the batteries are disconnected
before making any electrical connection(s).
9.4.0
Make sure that you install a breaker for each battery positive cable. The breaker must
maintain a minimum of 100 A continuous current flow and 400 A instantaneous current flow
for short period(s).
9.5.0
Make sure that you install a busbar for the positive and negative power feeds in the bilge
area of the vessel. The busbars must keep a minimum of 100 A continuous current flow and
400 A instantaneous current flow for short periods.
9.6.0
Connect the positive and earth cables of the items listed below to the busbars:

Dometic steering system.

Power connections to supply the Cox helm controls harness.
9.7.0
Connect another pair of cables (+ve and -ve), with a minimum cross-sectional area of 70
mm² or 00 gauge, from the busbar to each outboard. Make sure that you put the cable
connections through the rigging tube.
9.8.0
Attach 10 mm ring terminal to the ends of the correct cable length. Make sure that the ring
terminal is properly crimped and put insulation(s) on the joint to prevent moisture from going
into the ring terminal.
9.9.0
Put the cables through the rigging grommet and connect (positive to red arrow, negative to
NOTE
The initial surge of current flow during engine cranking can increased above rating.
