INSTALLATION MANUAL
8.0 FUEL SYSTEM INSTALLATION
8.12.0
Put the two hoses through the rigging tube to the location of the fuel pump module.
8.13.0
Connect the feed hose (the male quick connect on the vessel hose) to the ‘OUT’ port on the lift
pump with an applicable hose clamp. Make sure that the feed hose is supported safely.
8.13.1
If it is necessary to cut the hose, make sure that you use a hose cutter to prevent unwanted
material from going into the system.
8.14.0
Connect the second hose (return line with female quick connect on the vessel pipe) to
the return port of the fuel tank. Make sure that the hose is safely connected and has the
applicable hose clamps.
8.15.0
For maximum performance, preventing short time wear or failure of the fuel system, do not use
in the system components which are made with the materials listed below.
8.16.0
Make sure that all the caps or bungs on the fuel pipe ends are removed before making
connection(s) to the lift pump or vessel.
8.17.0
If you are installing multiple outboards, repeat steps 8.1.0 through 8.16.0 for each outboard.
Make sure that you do not join fuel hoses between outboards.
8.18.0
Remove the top of the lift pump and pre-fill the lift pump with fuel. Refit the top securely.
NOTE
The length of the pipe can be decreased to the applicable length for the vessel(s).
NOTE
Do not use a hacksaw or cutting tools that will let unwanted materials go into the system.
Unwanted material can possibly cause damage to component(s) of the system.
NOTE
This hose can be extended to the applicable length of the vessel.
NOTE
If you use the materials which are listed below, your warranty will no longer be valid.
Copper Brass Zinc plated materials
NOTE
If the lift pump is not pre-filled with fuel, when starting the lift pump will run dry and become
damaged.
