8 - MAINTENANCE
8.2 - Maintenance protocol
1. - Clean the burner and the primary heat exchanger flue gas side, check the condition of the thermal insulators and
seals (section 8.5);
2. - Check the system water pressure and absence of leaks (section 8.2.1);
3. - Check the gas supply pressure and gas leaks (sections 6.6 and 8.2.2);
4. - Check and clean the condensate drain system (section 8.10);
5. - Check the condition of the safety valve (section 8.2.3);
6. - Check the condition of the expansion tank (section 8.9);
7. - Check the condition of the safety and control devices (section 8.2.4);
8. - Check the condition of the electrical system (section 8.2.5);
9. - Check the burner is calibrated correctly (section 6.7);
10. - Check the operation of the main switch and the temperature setting in DHW and heating mode (sections 8.2.6 and
8.2.7);
11. - Check that the device against the lack of gas is triggered and check the intervention time (section 8.2.8);
12. - Check the good condition of the air intake and flue exhaust (chapter 8.2.9);
13. - Check the ignition and detection electrodes (chapters 8.2.10 and 8.6);
14. - Check the condition and operation of the air vent valves (section 8.2.11);
15. - Check the appliance efficiency (section 8.23);
8.2.1 - Checking the system water
pressure and any leaks
1. - Check that the system is full of water and pressurised
(section 9);
l
Check the system when cold and after each time the
system is filled.
2. - Check for leaks in the hydraulic connections;
a
WARNING!!! Continuously adding new water
leads to increased minerals that reduce the cross-
section of the passage, decreasing heat exchange
and causing the heat exchangers to overheat. All of
this leads to failures and reduces the appliance life.
8.2.2 - Checking the gas pressure and
any leaks
1. - Check the gas supply pressure is correct (section 6.6);
2. - Check for gas leaks using a leak detector (bubble or
similar) or an equivalent system, thoroughly checking
the entire gas route from the meter to the appliance;
a
WARNING!!! Perform the gas leak test using a
leak detection fluid only. The use of naked flames is
prohibited.
8.2.3 - Checking the condition of the
safety valve
1. - Visually check that the safety valve does not have any
obstructions in the drain pipe;
2. - In case of obstructions in the drain ducts proceed with
cleaning the pipe;
3. - Visually check that the safety valve does not have any
signs of corrosion, physical damage, water marks or
signs of rust;
4. - In case of other damage indicated above proceed with
replacing the component;
