(4) Adjusting the skew of the laser scanner unit (reference)
Perform the following adjustment if the leading and trailing edges of the copy image are laterally skewed (lateral
squareness not obtained).
Caution:
• After adjusting the skew of the laser scanner unit, make a test copy and check the copy image. If lateral squareness is
still not obtained, perform "(6) Adjusting the position of the ISU" (see page 1-6-25).
Procedure
Refit the laser scanner unit and
turn the main switch on.

Press the start key and make
a copy at 100% magnification.

Enter maintenance mode.
Enter “993” using the numeric keys.
Press the interrupt key.
Select “VTC-PG2”.
Press the start key.
Turn the main switch off and carry out steps
1 to 6 of "(3) Detaching and refitting the laser
scanner unit" (see page 1-6-20).
* In case of copy sample 1
Loosen the screw in the direction of the
white arrow (

Reduce the height of the LSU spacer in the
direction of the white arrow (

).
* In case of copy sample 2
Tighten the screw in the direction of the
black arrow (

ncrease the height of the LSU spacer in
the direction of the black arrow (

Press the stop/clear key to
exit maintenance mode.
