Plato’s music recognition software automatically detects the music being played and then
displays the appropriate album artwork plus the name of the song, album and artist name.
There will be a variable delay before this information appears depending on many factors,
such as the speed of the internet connection.
Note that Plato’s music recognition software requires an internet connection to return track
information.
The album (including artwork) is determined by looking at a sequence of tracks and thus Plato
may need to play multiple tracks before finding the correct match. This is especially difficult
for tracks which have been released on multiple albums (e.g. best-of collections).
As each track is recognised a new entry is added to the MEDIA LIST tab. The MEDIA list tab lists
all tracks as they are detected, a new entry is also generated whenever the recording state
changes, and the list is updated to reflect the current recorded status of the track. This is
described in more detail in section 7.
