Importing video files
The tagging information for video files is very inconsistent, so Plato uses a folder based
mechanism for storing and presenting video data. Plato preserves two levels of folder in its
importing of video files, and to make your files easy to find at a later date it is worth
spending some time organising it into folders before importing into Plato.
Prior to importing, video files should be sorted into up to 2 folders as follows:
•
Collection->Series->Video file
The collection folder will identify the box set (e.g. Breaking Bad), and the Series folder will
identify which series the individual episodes belong to (series 1-5).

Importing image files
It is possible to import image files into Plato for viewing on UPnP devices around the home.
As with video, image tagging is highly inconsistent so Plato uses a folder based mechanism
for cataloguing image files according to date.
Prior to importing, image files should be sorted in up to 3 levels of folder as follows:
Year->Month->Day
Each level will be preserved on Plato after the import process so it is possible to view images
sorted into date based folders.

File Manager
The middle tab of the Import/Export feature shows a fully featured file browser screen. This
provides a means of viewing, importing and copying individual folders from a USB device.
Note that it is much easier to import folders rather than individual files as this is more likely
to maintain album/artist groupings of the source material.
In the File Manager Tab, there are top level menus for
Home
Returns the screen to display top level folders on your Plato unit.
Up
Goes up one folder level.
