6.1.7 Using a working standard
To protect the sensitive BAM white standard, ColorLite
supplies robust working-standards as an option. These
working standards have a glossy surface and can be
cleaned using an alcohol cleaner, such as isopropyl.
In

“Use
working standard”
.
This mode can cause confusion
when the wrong standard is used to calibrate and is why a
warning message
is displayed.
When activated the calibration menu of the
sph860/sph900
will show a second menu option
“Work-
ing standard”
as well as the
“BAM Standard”
.

6.1.8 Calibration warning
The
sph900
has a
calibration warning
function. This
informs the user that a recalibration is needed.
The sensitivity of this function can
be adjusted in
“Settings”
–
“Sys-
tem”
–
“Calibration warning”
.
The sensitivity can be selected as
an index of 0 (off) to 9 (most sen-
sitive setting). Select the desired
level with the
arrow keys
and
confirm with
“Enter”
.
Time interval
A time interval warning since the last calibration can also
be set in intervals up to 48h or switched off.
The sensitivity setting should be adapted to the re-
quired precision – The advised setting for normal
use is
3 and 24h
.
