4.9 Probe head handling
The repeatability i.e. precision of the results is dependent
on an ideal interface between the probe head and the
sample.
During the scanning period it is essential that the
probe head is not moved or tilted and is securely
placed on the sample. When possible the probe
opening should be covered. If not, to minimized the
affects of ambient light, switch on the
stray light
compensation
.
Hold the probe head on the rubber part of the outer
sleeve. Place the probe head on the sample
or
a smaller
sample can be held against the probe head opening. The
scan can is triggered by slowly pushing this sleeve down-
wards or by pressing the
“ENTER”
key or remotely
from a PC using the ColorDaTra software.
The automatic probe head trigger can be switched off.
This is of advantageous when the probe head is to be
positioned before the measurement. When activated the
scan can be started using the
“ENTER”
key or
remotely from the PC.
