Measuring colours with the sph860/sph900
A main feature of the ColorLite sph860/sph900 spectro-
photometer is that it is very easy to use. To achieve con-
stant precise results, a few basic rules must be observed.
5.1 Calibration
The calibration takes only a few seconds and sets the
device to a defined status. At the same time main func-
tions of the device are checked.
The calibration should be performed at the beginning of
work. Always calibrate before measuring a standard that
is to be stored for later use.
When measuring a larger number of samples and / or
when ambient temperatures fluctuate, the calibration
should be repeated at regular intervals.
The calibration must be carried out under the same
environmental conditions as the subsequent
measurements.
Navigate using the keys to
the menu
“Calibrate”
.
Confirm your selection by pressing
the
“ENTER”
_
key.
5.1.1 Calibration with the BAM-Standard
The BAM-Standard is traceable to the normal of the PTB
(Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt) in Braunschweig
and is delivered with a certificate from the BAM (Federal
Institute for Materials Research and Testing).
Verify the selection also using the
“ENTER”
_
key.
Fit the BAM calibration cap on the
probe head and press the probe
head outer sleeve downwards.
Then press the
“ENTER”
key and
the calibration routine will be start-
ed.
