GENERAL INSTALLATION WARNINGS AND MAINTENANCE PLAN
General installation instructions and maintenance
plan
1. General notes
The following document contains some general infor-
mation to be evaluated during both installation and
maintenance of an air-conditioning unit.
For each individual aspect, it will be necessary to con-
tact specialist companies for the specific operations
described.
This applies both to the analysis of air and water qual-
ity, as well as to the drafting of a maintenance manual,
which needs to take into account the existing stand-
ards for each industrial or commercial sector and the
requirements in force at a municipal, regional, national
and European level. Specifically, the maintenance plan
must be prepared taking into account the place where
the appliances are installed, and consequently the lev-
el and type of pollutants and airborne dust in the envi-
ronment, as well as any specific control and sanitation
requirements necessary for the protection of workers
and people in general.
Some simpler maintenance operations, such as clean-
ing the filter and the outside of the cabinet, may be
performed by the end user after appropriate instruction
and training.
Maintenance operations on the appliance that involve
removing the cover and dismantling parts of the ap-
pliance, must only be performed by specialist, trained
personnel.
2. General safety requirements
• It is prohibited to use the appliance as a support for
sitting or climbing on.
• This appliance is intended to be used by experienced
or trained users in shops, light industry and on farms,
or for commercial use by non-experts.
• Do not touch the appliance with bare feet or with wet
or damp parts of the body.
• Do not tamper with or modify safety or control devices
without authorisation and instructions from the man-
ufacturer.
• Do not pull, detach or twist the cables connected to
the unit, even if disconnected from the mains power
supply.
• During installation, make sure that the temperature
sensor cables (air, water and coil, supplied with the
control units to be fitted on the unit) are not in contact
with the fan motor.
• Make sure that the appliance’s power cables and the
water valve actuator cables are not in contact with the
fan motor.
• Do not spray or throw water directly on the appliance.
• Never place anything through the air intake or supply
grills.
• Do not remove any protective devices without hav-
ing first disconnected the appliance from the power
supply.
• Do not dispose of or leave within reach of children
packaging materials, as they may represent a hazard.
• Do not install in an explosive or corrosive atmos-
phere, in damp places, outdoors or in very dusty en-
vironments.
• The appliance can be used by persons over the age
of eight, or with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, as
long as they have been given supervision or instruc-
tion concerning safe use of the appliance.
• Children must not play with the appliance.
• Cleaning and maintenance operations intended for
the user must not be carried out by children without
supervision.
• Before performing any work, make sure that:
1. The appliance is not powered on.
2. Close the coil water supply valve and wait for it to
cool down.
3. Near the appliance or appliances, in an easily ac-
cessible position, install a safety switch that dis-
connects power to the unit.
During installation, maintenance and repairs, for safety
reasons, always observe the following requirements:
• Always use work gloves.
• Do not expose the unit to flammable gases.
• Do not place objects on the grills.
• Be sure to connect the earth.
• When transporting the unit, it can be lifted by one op-
erator (for weights less than 30 kg) or by two opera-
tors.
• Lift it slowly, making sure it does not fall.
• Do not place objects or the hands into the fans.
• Do not remove the safety labels affixed inside the ap-
pliance.
• If these are illegible, request their replacement.
• When replacing components, always request original
spare parts.
3. General water quality requirements
The heat exchangers fitted on the air-conditioning units
are made from expanded copper pipes expanded onto
aluminium fins, and then completed with brazed-welded
manifolds and bends. To avoid corrosion, the composi-
tion of the water used in the circuit must be controlled.
The following table shows some basic information on
the limits allowed for the main substances that may
be contained in the water circuit. The table should not
be considered as a complete reference; contact water
treatment specialists for further details regarding water
analysis and adequate treatment.
