Base station
Select this if you want data transmission to the base station to take place
via Ethernet. If you enable this, you have to enter the IP address of the
base station. Refer to the base station's operating manual for more infor-
mation about setting up the base station.
NOTE
If you use Ethernet, port 4001 must not be blocked by a firewall, etc.
Enter the radio settings of the base station in the
RF Settings of the Base Station
area.
Channel
Used to select the radio channel. For the 868 MHz version, you can select
channel 1 to 3. You can operate no more than 4 tools per channel. To pre-
vent interference with the wireless transmission, different base stations
with the same radio channel should be as located as far apart from each
other as possible.
Network ID
Defines the network identification for the tools connected to a base station.
You can operate no more than 4 tools per network ID. The network ID can
be anywhere in the range from 1 to 16.
Tool ID
Specifies the tool identification for the tools connected in a network. The
tool ID can be anywhere in the range from 1 to 4.
Power
Used to select the transmission power. To avoid interfering with other
devices in this frequency range, set the transmission power as low as pos-
sible.
For 868 MHz, the maximum transmission power depends on the selected
channel.
• If channel 1 is selected, you can choose between 1, 5, 10, and 25 mW
for the transmission power.
• If channel 2 or 3 is selected, you can choose either 1 or 5 mW for the
transmission power.
NOTE
You must press the <F1> softkey to apply the settings you have modified.
