Fig. 3-25: Communication - Tool 1
The
Communication with the Tool
area defines the ports to which the infrared data transmission
and the base station are connected.
IRDA Off
Disables infrared data transmission.
IRDA Serial
Select this if you want to use a serial interface for infrared data transmis-
sion. Multiple tools of the same controller can use the same serial inter-
face for infrared data transmission. Once an interface has been enabled, it
is no longer available for other tasks, such as barcode or serial rundown
data transmission.
IRDA Gateway IP
Select this if using a gateway (Ethernet/serial, order no. 961159) for infra-
red data transmission. If you enable this, you have to enter the IP address
of the gateway.
NOTE
If you use Ethernet, port 4001 must not be blocked by a firewall, etc.
RF
Communication
Select
868 MHz
if you want communication with the tool to take place via
868 MHz.
RF Serial
Select this if you want to use a serial interface for data transmission with
the base station. Once an interface has been enabled, it is no longer avail-
able for other tasks, such as barcode or serial rundown data transmission.
