EFFECTIVITY:
1
Apply a uniform layer of adhesive greater than 0.015 inch (0.381 mm) thick, or
2
Apply a layer of adhesive using 1/4” V-notch trowel. The troweled surface should be
uniform with no thin layers between peaks. Use only light pressure when applying
adhesive with trowel. Discard or rework trowel if points are blunt, resulting in thin
layer between peaks.
(f)
On the second surface, apply a bead of adhesive. Adhesive bead should have a high point
near center of bead to avoid entrapped air. When more than one bead is required, apply
immediately adjacent to prior bead to form one large bead
Note:
Avoid applying, removing, and re-applying clamping pressure, as this will
cause air to become entrapped in the bond gap.
(g)
Secure parts in bond fixture, ensuring that pressure is applied uniformly. Keep in mind
short working-life of adhesive.
(h)
Remove excess adhesive from edge of bondline with cloth dampened with isopropyl
alcohol.
(i)
Cure bond.
