When I no longer have a need for the CareAlert how do I de-commission it and 
what do I do with it.?

The CareAlert Smart Dialler system belongs to you. So you can give it to other 
family members, or to an institution like the Lions Club who will ensure it finds 
a home with someone in need. In any case you can delete the numbers and 
voice message by following the instructions on page 13

HANDY TIPS FOR THE ELDERLY TO HELP PREVENT SLIPPING, 
TRIPPING AND STUMBLING FALLS. HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS 
FOR REDUCING FALL-RELATED INJURIES IN THE HOME. 

•   Place all lamp, extension leads, and telephone cords out of the flow of 

walking traffic areas. 

•  Make sure all small rugs and carpet runners are slip-resistant 
•  and are not dog-eared. 
•  Place small stoves and heaters where they cannot be knocked over, and 

away from furnishings and flammable materials, such as curtains or rugs. 

•  Make  sure  that  hallways,  stairways,  passageways  between  rooms,  and 

other heavy traffic areas are well lit. 

•  Ensure exits and passageways are clear, so that there is nothing to stumble 

over. 

•  Equip your bathrooms and showers with non-skid mats. 
•  Wet areas are one of the most common places for accidents. 
•  Install at least one, but preferably two, grab rails in your bathroom and 

shower areas. 

•  Make sure that the steps in your stairway allow for secure footing, and 

that the coverings on the steps are in good condition. 

•  Be sure that you can clearly see the edges of the steps, and do not store 

anything on the stairway, even temporarily. 

•  Use a sturdy, step stool to reach high shelves. 
•  Never stand on chairs, boxes or other makeshift items 
•  The  elderly  should  wear  shoes  with  non-skid  soles  and  low  heels,  be 

careful of catching clothing or treading on garments. 

•  Provide adequate lighting for all areas including night lights for bedrooms 

and bathrooms.

WARRANTY AND CONTACT DETAILS

The Trade Practices Act and similar laws in each state and territory provide the 
owner under certain circumstances with remedies in the event that a product 
fails due to defective material or workmanship. Batteries are not covered by 
this warranty.

Subject  to  the  following  conditions,  in  addition,  Safety  Electrical  Services  Pty 
Ltd Trading as CareAlert (herein referred to as SES) guarantees the product to 
be free from defects and faulty material for a period of ONE YEAR parts and 
labour. Warranty extensions are available through the website. This is strictly a 
back to base repair warranty only.

The conditions referred to are:

1.  The  warranty  only  applies,  provided  that  the  product  has  been  used  in 

accordance with the operation instruction manual.

2.   SES  shall  be  under  no  obligation  under  this  warranty  if  the  original 

purchaser can not supply proof and date of purchase of the product. 

 

Repairs  or  replacement  work  will  be  carried  out  at  the  discretion  of  SES, 
however the following conditions may cause the warranty to become void, 
and repairs may incur charges for service and parts (if necessary).

1.   Accidental  damage,  power  surge  damage,  acts  of  God,  failure  due  to 

misuse,  abuse,  incorrect  installation,  negligence  or  non-observance  of 
regulations on the part of the owner, or attempts to repair other than by 
an SES approved service agent.

2.   Subject  to  any  statutory  provisions,  SES  shall  not  be  liable  for  any 

consequential  or  contingent  loss  or  personal  injury  or  death  arising 
directly or indirectly from any defect of the goods supplied.

3.   Until the fault has been correctly ascertained by SES, then at no time will 

SES have liability for any freight or transportation costs or for any damage 
during transit. All freight charges must initially be borne by the owner of 
the  goods  as  all  warranty  work  is  performed  by  the  designated  service 
agent as shown on the web site.

 

No other warranty expressed or implied, nor obligations or liabilities are 
assumed by SES in connection with the sale of this product.
