LoggerNet
has several tools for troubleshooting communications issues:
l
PakBusGraph
l
LogTool
l
TroubleShooter
See
the
LoggerNet
manual
for
more
information
/documents/us/manuals/LoggerNet.pdf
.
In
an
RF451/RF452
network
of
CRVW3
stations,
you
can
perform
radio
diagnostics
at
the
base
station
and
using
the
RF
DIAG
connector
of
the
base/gateway
radio
and
a
Diagnostics
and
Programming
cable,
purchased
separately.
For
more
information,
see
/documents/us/manuals/rf451.pdf
.
If
there
is
trouble
making
a
connection
between
LoggerNet
and
the
RF451/RF452
or
RF407
base
station,
use
Device
Configuration
Utility
to
ensure
that
the
baud
rate
setting
of
the
RF451/RF452
or
RF407
matches
the
PakBusPort
baud
rate
setting
in
the
LoggerNet
Setup
Screen.
By
default,
PakBus
beaconing
is
set
to
occur
at
a
1-minute
interval
on
the
PakBusPort.
This
is
configured
in
the
Setup
Screen.
CRVW3
devices
are
not
set
up
to
use
beaconing
by
default,
since
it
makes
more
sense
for
LoggerNet
to
do
that
through
the
PakBusPort.
When
troubleshooting
your
network,
consider
using
a
more
frequent
beaconing
interval.
However,
once
the
network
is
operating
properly,
the
Beacon
Interval
setting
should
be
set
back
to
1
minute
or
a
slower
interval
to
avoid
unnecessary
radio
traffic.

Status
monitor
Most
CRVW3
devices
that
have
been
configured
to
be
part
of
a
radio
network
will
also
be
part
of
an
automatic
collection
schedule.
For
automatic
data
collection
to
occur,
the
LoggerNet
toolbar
must
be
running;
or,
in
the
case
of
LoggerNet
Admin
installations,
the
LoggerNet
Service
must
be
started.
See
Use
LoggerNet
Status
Monitor
to
assess
the
connectivity
and
collection
status
for
all
CRVW3
devices
on
your
network.
Status
Monitor
shows
whether
LoggerNet
is
connecting
with
each
station
and
whether
the
data
from
that
station
is
being
collected
properly.
For
more
information
see
www.campbellsci.com/videos/status-monitor
.
Check
Status
Monitor
on
a
regular
basis,
daily
or
weekly,
to
ensure
that
the
expected
data
is
being
collected
from
each
CRVW3
station
at
the
expected
time.
