show measurement results from a sensor subjected to narrow- and wide-swept
ranges. The narrow measurement was taken with a swept frequency between 200
and 2200 Hz and the wide measurement with a swept frequency between 200 and
6500 Hz. The narrow-swept measurement recorded the greatest sensor noise at a
frequency of 935 Hz with a signal-to-noise ratio of 318 (more signal / less noise).
Sweeping over the wide range shows noise at 4150 Hz with a signal-to-noise ratio
of 21.4 (less signal / more noise). The discrepancy between the two ratios
illustrates that better readings can be obtained when the sensor is swept over more
narrow-frequency ranges. Additionally, the noise at 4150 Hz in the wide
measurement is not a factor in the narrow measurement because it lies outside the
sampling frequency range.
