IPv6 Filtering
In releases prior to System Release 13.2, the operator can filter (block) specified IPv4
protocols and ports from leaving the BHM and BHS and entering the network. This
protects the network from both intended and inadvertent packet loading or probing by
network users. By keeping the specified protocols or ports off the network, this feature
also provides a level of protection to users from each other. In System Release 13.2,
filtering capabilities have been added for IPv6 traffic. Unlike
, IPv6
filtering is done independent of IPv4 filtering.
Configuring IPV6 Filtering
IPv6 filters are set using the Protocol Filtering tab on the BHM and BHS (at
Configuration => Protocol Filtering
). Once a filter is set for a packet type, those
packets will not be sent over the RF interface depending on “Filter Direction” setting.

Filter Direction
Operators may choose to filter upstream (uplink) RF packets
or downstream (downlink) RF packets.
