Emergency Treatment 3-9
h. Lower down the car to ground and tighten
the wheel bolts.
To lower the vehicle, please rotate the jack
handle counterclockwise.
Please use a spanner for wheel bolt to tighten
the bolts. Do not use any other tools or lever,
like hammer, tube, or your feet. Make sure
the spanner is fitted onto the bolts firmly.
As per the order shown in the figure above,
tighten the bolts slightly one by one, repeat
the procedure until all the bolts are fastened
firmly.
Tips
●
Please make sure no part of your body
and no one nearby will get injured while
laying down the car onto the ground.
●
When the tire is replaced, please use
the wrench with a torque of 110 Nm
(10.5 kgf·m) to fasten the bolts.
Otherwise the bolts will become loose,
which may cause the tire to fall off and
result in serious accident.
-- After Tire Replacement
i. The tire pressure after replacement.
Adjust the tire pressure to the value specified
in Chapter 5. If the current pressure is lower
than specified value, please drive the car
slowly to the nearby service station for air
charging.
Do not forget to install the tire valve cap, or
dust and moisture will enter the valve core to
cause possible air leakage. If the tire valve
cap is missing, please use a new one
immediately.
j. Store all of the tools including jack and flat
tires in place. Fix the flat tire onto the trunk
with spare tire support.
When the tire is replaced, please use the
wrench to tighten the wheel nuts with a torque
of 110 Nm as soon as possible. Have the flat
tire repaired by a technician. Fasten the
original flat tire according to the following
methods, and make sure the spare tire lower
boss faces upwards. See the figure below.
Tips
●
Before driving, please make sure all
tools, jack, and flat tire are fixed in their
storage position so as to reduce the
possibility of personal injury in case of a
crash or emergency braking.
●
After the spare tire is replaced, please
drive at a speed lower than
70 km/h, and the single trip should not
exceed 100 km. Drive to a nearby BYD
service station slowly and have the tire
replaced. Otherwise, serious accidents
may happen, such as tire puncture and
loss of control.
