Reinstall removed parts.
FUEL PUMP PRESSURE TEST
The pressure test will show the available pressure
at the fuel pump outlet. It validates the pressure
regulator, the fuel pump and tests for leaks in the
system.
NOTE:
See also the diagnostic flow chart in the
TROUBLESHOOTING
section to help diagnose a
fuel system related problem.
Ensure there are no leaks from hoses and fittings.
Repair any leak.
Before proceeding with the pressure test ensure
the battery is fully charged. Battery voltage must
be over 12 volts.
WARNING
If engine has been recently running, always
allow engine and exhaust system time to cool
before disconnecting any fuel component.
Ensure there is enough gas in fuel tank.
Remove the seat and the RH side body panel, re-
fer to the
BODY
section.
On 2009 models
, remove air filter housing. Refer
to
AIR INTAKE SYSTEM.
Wrap shop rags around the fuel hose at the quick
disconnect fitting on the RH side of the engine.
Carefully disconnect the fuel pump outlet hose at
the fuel rail quick disconnect fitting by pressing on
the release tab.

Install fuel pressure gauge (P/N 529 035 709) and
T-fitting (P/N 529 036 023) between disconnected
hoses (in-line installation).

Turn ignition key to ON.
