Polling
Secure Polling
Secure Polling is a way to keep your documents and others’ from falling into the
wrong hands while the FAX/MFCs are set up for polling. You can use Secure Polling
only with another Brother FAX/MFC. Your four-digit ID number must be entered on
the FAX/MFC that polls for your documents.

To have your TAD answer only the main number, the machine must be in Manual
Mode.

In FAX/TEL mode or FAX ONLY, the machine will answer all numbers on the
phone line.
Polling is the process of retrieving faxes from another FAX/MFC. You can use your
FAX/MFC to “poll” other machines, or you can have someone poll your machine. All
parties involved in polling need to set up their FAX/MFCs to accommodate polling.
When someone polls your machine to receive a fax, they pay for the call; if you poll
someone’s FAX/MFC to receive a fax, you pay for the call.

Some FAX/MFCs do not respond to the polling function.
