Front spar assy 55B230100N
-
Remove the HTU from the fuselage as described in
chapter 55-10.
-
Inspect (magnifying glass or similar) the front spar assy for
deformation/cracks, especially the hinge plates and their
attachments (counterparts of the mandrels in bulkhead
12).
-
Inspect the part of the spar covered by the skin through
the lightening holes and the inspection holes (by means of
a borescope or similar) for deformation/cracks.
-
If a complete inspection from both sides (front and rear) is
not possible remove the outer front rips (55B230050L/R)
of the stabilizer and inspect through the opening.
-
Replace if damaged.
Rear spar assy 55B230200N
-
Remove the HTU from the fuselage as described in
chapter 55-10.
-
Inspect (magnifying glass) the rear spar assy for
deformation/cracks, especially the mounting brackets and
connecting rivets to the spar.
-
Inspect the rest of the spar through the lightening holes
and the inspection holes (by means of a borescope) for
deformation/damage.
-
If a complete inspection from both sides (front and rear) is
not possible remove the outer rear rips (55B230052L/R) of
the stabilizer and inspect through the opening.
-
Replace if damaged.
Bulkhead 12 assy 53B251200N
-
Remove the HTU from the fuselage as described in
chapter 55-10.
-
Inspect the Bulkhead 12 assy for deformation/damage,
especially the mandrels and the mounting of the mandrels
to the bulkhead by means of a magnifying glass or similar.
-
Inspect the rest of the bulkhead through the lightening
holes and the inspection holes of the fuselage (by means
of a borescope or similar) for deformation/damage.
Top bulkhead 13 assy 53B251310N
-
Remove the HTU from the fuselage as described in
chapter 55-10.
-
Remove the Bulkhead 13 assy and inspect for
deformation/damage.
-
Remove any paint according ASTM E1417.
-
Perform dye-penetrant testing according ASTM E1417.
Replace if damaged
-
Paint with the materials defined below* if undamaged and
reinstall.
