Area 3 - Right Side of Gooseneck to Trailer Connection Area
1.
Gooseneck to Trailer Connection
•
The Gooseneck Pull Plate is properly positioned.
•
The Lock Pin is properly positioned and secured in the holder.
2.
Shim Legs
•
The Shim Legs are positioned properly and the correct length for
the load.
Area 4 - Right Side of Trailer Area
1.
Spare Tires (if equipped)
•
Carrier or rack not damaged.
•
Tire and/or wheel securely mounted in the rack.
•
Tire and wheel condition adequate. Proper spare tire size, correctly
inflated.
2.
Lights and Reflectors
•
Clearance lights are clean and operating.
•
Reflectors clean.
3.
Frame and Body
•
Frame and cross members not bent, cracked, damaged or missing.
•
Body parts not damaged or missing.
4.
Placarding
•
Proper identification of trailer load.
5.
Cargo Securement
•
Cargo properly loaded side to side and back to front.
•
Check cargo tie-downs and ensure they are tight. National Safety
Code Standard 10 Cargo Securement.
•
Ensure concentrated load is positioned over structural beams.
6.
Canvas or tarp (if required) are properly secured to prevent water
damage.
Area 5 - Right Side Brakes
•
Check condition of brake pads and drums/rotors.
•
Check condition of hoses, lines & valves.
•
Check air chamber mounting.
•
Check spring brakes.
•
Drain moisture from air tank, close petcock.
