3.8 Loading and Unloading Procedures
The RGN trailer is front loaded by detaching the Gooseneck. The detached Gooseneck is then moved
away with the tractor and the machine being transported is driven onto the trailer.
1.
Make sure the trailer is on solid, level ground.
2.
Set the brakes on the trailer and place chocks on either side of the trailer wheels.
3.
Follow the instructions in Section 3.4.3 of this manual when disconnecting the Gooseneck from
the trailer.
4.
Measure the width of the machine
being transported. If it is wider then
the trailer deck, rotate the Deck
Extensions into place and install the
Extension Decking. See Fig. 3-29
WARNING! The centerline of the
tracks or tires of the machine being
transported MUST be positioned on
the trailer main deck, not on the
extensions. The extensions are NOT
designed to carry the full weight of the
machine.
5.
Use extreme caution when loading the machine on the trailer. GO SLOWLY! The load must be
centered on the trailer, DO NOT overload one side. Position the machine for equal weight
distribution on all axles.
6.
Fasten the load to the trailer. Follow the National Safety Code Standard 10 Cargo Securement
regulations. Make sure the load has been manipulated into a position that is as low as possible.
Make sure the load is below the legal height limit by actually measuring the height.
