6.1

General Torque Specifications

Use the following guidelines when tightening bolts.

•

Tighten all bolts to the torques specified in charts unless otherwise noted throughout this
manual.

•

Check the tightness of the bolts periodically, using the bolt-torque chart as a guide.

•

Replace hardware with the same strength bolt.

•

Torque figures are valid for non-greased or non-oiled threads and heads unless otherwise
specified. Do not grease or oil bolts or cap screws unless specified in this manual. When using
locking elements, increase the torque values by 5%.
