1.
Hydraulic Power Plant (if equipped)
•
Inspect the engine fuel and oil level.
•
Inspect the battery.
2.
Hydraulic Components
•
Inspect the oil level in the reservoir.
•
Check all hydraulic components for leaks and loose
connections.
3.
Check for proper connection of air brake glad hands, and secure
contact of electrical connection.
4.
Start tractor engine.
5.
Build up air pressure in the tractor-trailer systems.
6.
Turn on lights and inspect for proper function of:
•
Clearance lights.
•
Identification lights.
•
Turn signals and 4-way flashers.
•
Side marker lights.
•
Tail lights.
•
Stop lights
7.
Check the function of brakes:
•
Apply service brakes.
•
Apply parking brakes.
•
Apply accelerator with brakes in emergency to ensure park
brake functions.
•
Stop engine.
Release trailer emergency brakes.
Apply service brakes.
AIR LOSS SHOULD NOT EXCEED:
•
3 psi per minute on single vehicles.
•
4 psi per minute on combination.
