Hydraulic RGN Trailer Gooseneck Operation
3.4.1
System Overview
The hydraulic system in the gooseneck
can be connected to the tractor’s
hydraulic system or the optional self
contained system mounted in the
Gooseneck. Either system can be used
to power the hydraulic components.
The optional self contained power unit
uses at 14 HP engine running a 6.3 gpm
pump with a maximum pressure setting
of 3000 psi. The unit has it’s own oil
reservoir holding 7 gallons US.
Note:
It is a good practice to always turn
off the gas on the engine when it is
not in use.
A 4 spool hydraulic valve is used to control either hydraulic system.
WARNING!
As the hydraulic system operates at very high pressures and the hydraulic cylinder
exert extremely high forces, only properly trained persons should attempt to operate the controls.
Never place any body part beneath the load or any part of the frames when the hydraulic cylinders
are in motion or when the hydraulics are supporting the trailer or the load with no mechanical
stops in place. Stand well clear of any hydraulically actuated components while they are in
motion. “One person” operation is recommended for safety - that is, there must be no one
operating the hydraulic controls while another person is working near hydraulically actuated
components.
WARNING!
Air or oil injected under the skin from a high pressure leak in an air or hydraulic system
can cause severe injury or death. Only qualified personnel are allowed to perform any
troubleshooting or service on air or hydraulic system, including bleeding air from hydraulic
cylinders.
