Setting a new channel number via software
First, all the sensors shall be connected via the cable
1.
and these shall be selected via the radio buttons.
The radio button is deactivated for devices whose
2.
channels cannot be set, for this purpose refer to
comments in previous sections.
"Select new channel" is used to select the required
3.
channel number.
Click on the "Set new channel" button to write the
4.
new channel number in the selected devices. Subse-
quently, the channel settings are retrieved automati-
cally once again.
Press the reset key to quit the setup mode.
5.
Terminal
The terminal dialogue contains tools, which can be
R
used for system diagnosis and/or modification.
It shows all the sensor values in the tab "Sensor Va-
R
lues" and helps to transfer commands in the measu-
ring system, in the tab "Command Input".

Fig. 22:
1 Start the measurements.
2 Stop the measurements. The measurements are stopped automati-
cally, if the dialogue is quit or closed.
3 Symbolic representation of the measuring beam. A beam interrup-
tion is represented through a dotted red line:
4 Display of angular sum. The display is hidden by default and can
be switched on with the help of the key combination CTRL+W.
5 Display of sensor values. The letters identify the following sensors:
A, B, G, H - cross toe
C, D, E, F - long toe
I, K, P, Q - Steering axis inclination sensor
L, M, N, O - Camber sensor
The display can be compared with the direct angle
i
measurement in the main program. There is no error
handling and the measured values are uncorrected.
Thereby, a better evaluation of the status of the
measuring system is possible.
There is no automatic adjustment of the transmitting
i
power. Observe adequate spacing of sensors.
Enough distance of the sensors note.

Command Input
Command Input
Fig. 23:
1 One can command the measuring system via a definite order of
Byte sequences. These sequences can be entered here. All the
sent commands are saved in the combobox and can once again
be invoked rapidly if required.
2 The command is sent to the measurement box with the help of
Run. If the RETURN key is selected after entry in the combobox,
then the command is likewise sent.
3 'Clear' deletes the contents of the log window.
4 The log window shows the Byte sequences, which is sent as
a response to a command, to the CCD server.
