2.4 No network connection is available within 100m of the Access Easy Controller
You arrived here because there is no network connectivity available in the general area where
the Access Easy Controller is to be installed.
Possible solutions:
1.
Relocate the controller to a location where network connectivity is available.
2.
Add a hub at a midway point between the controller and the location where network con-
nectivity can be obtained. The hub will serve to regenerate the network data and essen-
tially double the available distance between the Access Easy Controller and the network
connection point.
3.
Install Ethernet extenders. Ethernet extenders are available through Black Box Corpora-
tion and most other computer networking supply houses. These extenders, when prop-
erly installed, can substantially extend the distance between the Access Easy Controller
and the network hub,
2.5 The customer's network does not support TCP/IP
You arrived here because the customer's network operates under a protocol other than TCP/
IP. Most computer networks can support multiple protocols. If the customer's network oper-
ates using a protocol other than TCP/IP, then in many cases all that is necessary is to be add
the TCP/IP protocol into the network environment. This type of work should be done by cus-
tomers, their IT department, or other computer supplier.
Possible solutions:
1.
Modify the existing network configuration to add the TCP/IP protocol.
2.
Provide a non-networked computer to work with Access Easy Controller. This computer
will need to be configured for 100 MB Ethernet and TCP/IP protocol. This computer can
then be directly connected to the Access Easy Controller using the crossover type cable.
2.6 The customer does not have a computer running the TCP/IP protocol
You arrived here because the customer does not have any computer on the network config-
ured to support the TCP/IP protocol. This protocol is the only one supported by the Access
Easy Controller. To manage the controller's database, the customer will need at least one
computer running the TCP/IP network protocol.
Possible solutions:
1.
The customer can modify the existing network configuration of one or more computers to
include the TCP/IP protocol.
2.
The customer can provide a non-networked computer to work with Access Easy Control-
ler. This computer will need to be configured for 100 MB Ethernet and TCP/IP protocol.
This computer can then be directly connected to the Access Easy Controller using the
crossover type cable.
