Closing
Push and hold the switch.
The windows are lowered, the convertible top
closes and the windows are raised again for as
long as the switch is pressed.
Avoiding interruption
Push or pull the switch until the convertible top is
opened or closed all the way and the end of the
process is indicated by a Check Control mes‐
sage. Ensure that the side cover flaps are always
fully closed. The convertible top only locks if it is
fully open or closed.
The convertible top movement is interrupted if
the switch is released. The sequence can be
continued in the desired direction using the
switch.
In this case, the convertible top is not locked.
Operate the switch again until the convertible top
operation is finished.
Operating from outside
For vehicles equipped with Comfort Access, the
convertible top can also be operated from the
outside.

Closing the convertible top
manually
General
In the event of a fault, the convertible top can be
closed manually. This requires two persons.
If possible, have an opened convertible top
closed manually by a Service Partner of the man‐
ufacturer or another qualified Service Partner or a
specialist workshop.
Safety notes
WARNING
In the event of an electrical fault, the convertible
top cannot be locked in the fully open position.
The convertible top will rise up while the vehi‐
cle is moving. There is a danger of accidents.
Do not open the convertible top manually.
WARNING
Parts of the body can become trapped when
closing the convertible top manually. Operating
the convertible top on one side only may dam‐
age the convertible top. There is a danger of in‐
jury or damage to property. Make sure that the
area of movement of the convertible top and
convertible top compartment lid is kept clear.
Only close the convertible top manually with
two persons.
Before closing
1. Lower the side windows fully.
2. Switch off standby state, see page 123 .
3. Have the hexagon key supplied with the vehi‐
cle to hand.
