SERIAL CONSOLE PORT MANAGER
When Modem Mode is selected, the menu will include additional prompts
(see Figure 5-2) that are used to define these modem strings:
71. Reset String:
When necessary, this prompt can be used to redefine the
reset string that will be sent to the attached modem. The Reset String is
sent prior to the Initialization String in order to provide a common initial
setting for modem parameters. The default Reset Message is “
ATZ
”.
72. Initialization String:
Defines a command string up to 48 characters long
that is sent after the Reset String to initialize modem parameters to settings
required by your application. The default Initialization String is
“
AT&C1$D2S0=1
”.
73. Hang-Up String:
Defines the hang-up string that will be sent to the
attached modem. Although the Port Manager will pulse the DTR line in
order to hang up an attached modem, the Hang-Up String is often useful
for controlling modems that do not use the DTR line. The Hang-Up String
is undefined by default.
NOTE
When you’re communicating with the Serial Console Port Manager
through a modem, communication parameters will not be changed until
you exit from Command Mode and close the modem connection to the
Port Manager.
