Booting with the ti_5000.cfg File
To prepare the Model 5782 VNR for initial configuration, you first boot it with the
ti_5000.cfg file. The ti_5000.cfg file is an initial configuration file containing only
the minimal information needed to boot the Model 5782 VNR. You then run the
intallation script to add configuration information about your first IP interface.
When you complete the Quick-Start procedure, you save your new configuration
information to a file called startup.cfg. Do not edit the ti_5000.cfg file or
overwrite it with another configuration file.
If the installation fails, you must reboot the VNR with ti_5000.cfg before retrying
the Quick-Start procedure. You also should boot with the ti_5000.cfg file if:
•
The router is currently running a configuration file other than ti_5000.cfg and
you want to reconfigure the Model 5782 VNR from scratch.
•
You terminate the Quick-Start installation script before it completes the
installation process.
