About the Model 5782 VNR
The Model 5782 VNR resides in a Bay Networks Model 5000BH chassis. The
basic Model 5000BH ATM environment consists of the following devices and
software:
•
Model 5000BH backplane in a Model 5000BH chassis
•
Model 5724M ATM MCP Switch
•
Host modules that provide ports for ATM connectivity (optional)
In
Figure 1-1
, a Model 5782 VNR routes data between emulated LANs (ELANs)
1, 2, and 3 through the ATM master control processor (MCP) external interfaces.
In this example, three ATM MCP ports connect to three separate Centillion 100
™
switches. Each Centillion 100 switch maintains its own ELAN.
Access to the wide area network is through the fourth ATM MCP port.
