Strapping Troubleshooting
If a bundle has a miss tie, the first step is to look at both ends of the
failed strapping and refer to the possible options below.
Problem #4
-Tried to band 3 bands together.
Bottom strapping looks like this.
Possible Cause
-Knurl piece is allowing bottom strap
to go through opening (instead of
pushing strapping down), when
fetchers are retracting.
Correction
-Option #1 Lubricate and remove
any excess paint at pivoit bushing.
Lubricate and remove any excess
paint at the surface contact
between the knurled weldment and
1-G-0000E
-Option #2 Check if there is a gap
between knurled weldment and
1-G-0000E. (There should not be
any gap.)
If there is a gap then the knurled
weldment is bent.
Option #2 is caused by strapping
comming loose on banding drums,
and tying strapping in a knot.
Opening that strapping
should not go through.
