7.2 Upgrading an AVL 4000 DiGas to an AVL 4000
DiCom
A trained service technician can carry out this upgrade with the following components:
Component AVL ident. number
Chamber Adapter BB0776
Measuring Chamber Cable BV1982
4 metal screws 2.9 × 6.5 mm
(for mounting the socket on the rear panel) DS0992
AVL 4000 DiCom Sticker ZB1804
If the installed rear panel has no holes stamped for the two sockets (for control cable and
heating cable), you also need rear panel ZG1940. Most rear panel have these socket holes
stamped in them – the centres just need to be pushed out.
Instructions for conversion
•
Open the instrument completely
•
Remove speed angle board
(undo 4 Phillips screws on the outside, one hexagon nut inside)
•
Insert chamber adapter in slots J4, J6, J10 and J14 on the main board
•
Push out the stamped socket centres on the rear panel.
If the rear panel has no stamped sockets, you will have to use Rear Panel ZG1940.
•
Mount the cable with the socket on the rear panel
•
Connect cable to chamber adapter
•
The fuses of the mains switch group need to be changed - 1.25 AT (slow blow) fuses
have to be used with the AVL DiCom 4000
•
Change the sticker on the rear panel and enter the new fuse rating
