fragmentation-threshold
User level: privileged, supervisor.
Command Mode: Radio card, Template
Use the
fragmentation-threshold
command to set the fragmentation threshold for
MAC Service Data Units (MSDUs).
When transmitting a packet over a wireless network, sometimes the packet is broken into
several segments, if the size of packet exceeds that allowed by the network. The
fragmentation threshold
defines the number of bytes used for the fragmentation boundary
for directed messages. Fragmentation threshold increases the transfer reliability by cutting a
MAC Service Data Unit (MSDU) into smaller size MAC Protocol Data Units (MPDU). For
this command, specify the MPDU maximum size, in octets, that may be delivered to the
PHY. An MSDU is broken into fragments if its size exceeds this attribute’s value after
adding MAC headers and trailers.
Use the [no] form of this command to set the fragmentation threshold to its default.
