STERRAD VELOCITY Reader User’s Guide
Control Chemical Indicator Color Change
Configuration Setup
The chemical indicator (CI) on the biological indicator (BI) cap changes color from
red/pink to yellow to indicate the BI has been exposed to hydrogen peroxide. The CI on
a control BI should remain red because it does not go through a STERRAD Sterilization
Cycle and has not been exposed to hydrogen peroxide.

Printer Setup
A printer can be attached via a USB port if desired. Attach the printer to a USB
port and select the Port Location from the drop down menu. The reader will display a
loading screen while it detects the printer. Touch

to print a test page. Check
the test page to confirm that the printer is configured correctly. Touch

Setup Complete
The setup is now complete. Touch
Done
for the system to begin the warm-up
sequence. After the warm-up sequence the reader is ready for use.
