Problem/Error Message
Possible Cause
Suggested Solution
BI breaks in reader well.
BI activated in well,
faulty BI
Make sure the BI is not
activated in the well, refer to
BI IFU for proper activation.
Contact ASP.
BI liquid evaporates.
BI incubated
for longer than
recommended,
cracked media
ampoule.
Discard the BI in accordance
with the hospital or healthcare
facility policy and procedures,
and reprocess the load with
a new BI. Per BI IFU, inspect
BI for cracked ampuole pior
to processing. Do not process
cracked BI. Contact ASP.
Failure to scan BI barcode.
Faint or smudged
barcode, material
obscuring barcode
or barcode scanner,
damaged barcode
scanner, non-ASP BI.
Verify the BI is an ASP validated
BI, remove anything which
might obscure the barcode and
attempt to rescan the barcode
from different distances and
angles. Do not place tape on
the barcode as it can damage
the barcode. Check BI for
damaged barcode. If this
problem persists, contact ASP.
