Backup Battery - Replacement
This section describes how to replace the backup battery. Reference is made throughout this section to
Figure 6 on page 39 and “Electrical Assembly” on page 22.
Check the following characters on the product label (refer to Chapter 6, Subsection 1.1).
The first character signifies the electrical voltage. 1 = 110V and 2 = 230V. The second character
identifies if an optional Patient Handset is fitted (see Fig , Item 24 &25). H if fitted, G if not.

Removal
To remove the backup battery:
9.1.1 Remove the control box cover by prying from the left hand edge (Figure 7).

9.1.2 Refer to Figure 8. Insert a small flat bladed screwdriver into the slot (A) on the side of the
control box (Fig 6, Item 5) to release the retainer clip. Pull the clip out as shown (B) and
disconnect the battery cable (C) from the control box.

Electrical Assembly & voltage
WARNING
Lead-acid batteries are a potential environmental and health hazard. Store
batteries in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Dispose of
unserviceable batteries safely in accordance with local authority regulations.
