Directions for installation
Danger
Life-threatening situation!
Q
For devices with electrical components: provide
a fault protection device during the installation,
tripping limit < 30 mA.
Q
Switch off the power supply prior to installation.
Q
Do not attach a cable to the underfloor-convector.
Q
Do not roll cables.
Preparatory work
Q
Make sure, that the site is suitable for installation,
refer to technical data.
Q
Select screws and dowels (not included in the
scope of supply) which correspond to the structural
situation.
Q
Make sure, that an acoustic insulation factor is fitted
between the underfloor-convector and surroundings, all
the way around and at the base, e.g. edge insulation
strips or sound insulation.
Installation
Q
Remove packaging and check the delivery contents
(Fig. 2):
•
Underfloor-convector
–
for adjusting screws and screw latches (quantity
depends on size of the underfloor-convector, re-
fer to technical data)
–
with preinstalled plastic protective molding for
strips
•
Linear grate/rollout grate (if ordered)
•
Installation cover made from wood, 2- and/or
3-part
•
Installation instructions
Q
Remove linear grate/rollout grate and pack for sto-
rage, until it is finally positioned.
Note
Special feature wooden roller grates
Q
Wood is a natural product and is constantly chan-
ging due to heat, humidity and dryness. This may
also result in a change in dimension, such as
Shrinking, the wooden rods used lead and thus to
a change in length of wooden roller grates.
Q
Growth, color, texture and grain can vary.
Note
Damage to the linear/roll-up grids due to incor-
rect handling!
Q
Do not subject roll-up grids to point loading, e.g.
involving chair/table legs or ladders.
Q
When rolling up the troll-up grids make sure that
the internal tension spring is not overstretched or
kinked.
Q
If desired, attach suitable insulation all around and
on the bottom (Fig. 3).
Q
Remove the installation cover completely.
Q
Align the underfloor-convector with respect to po-
sition and height on all adjustable screws (Fig. 4).
Q
Fix all screw latches in place with screws and do-
wels. Turn the front screw latches inward 45°±10°
(Fig. 5-7).
Q
Connect heating circuits and, if necessary, cooling
circuits corresponding to the connection-situation
(Figs. 8-10d). The connection set is optional, shown
by dotted lines and only hand-proof preassembled.
3/4"- counter connection screws, do not twist.
Q
With KRN92: connect supply air (Fig. 11). The sup-
ply air can be positioned or locked on the valve in
the interior of the underfloor-convector.
Q
With KC261/KC461/KC291/KC491: connect conden-
sate drain (Fig. 12).
Q
Underfloor-convectors having electrical compo-
nents: electrical connection can be carried out by an
electrician after separate instruction.
Q
Activate the underfloor-convector and ventilate.
Q
Carry out leak testing.
Q
If the system is tight, raise the installation cover
(Fig. 13).
Q
Before completion of the flooring, make sure that
the underfloor-convector is correctly oriented. No
height adjustment is possible after the flooring
work.
Danger
Overheating hazard!
Q
Do not operate the underfloor-convector with the
installation cover in place.
Final work (Fig. 14)
If the construction work is finished:
Q
Remove the installation cover.
Q
Remove plastic protective molding for edge strips.
Q
Put linear grate/rollout grate in place.
