•
If the potentiometer signal is above the maximum threshold: a voltage of the maximum limit
stop (open valve) was detected outside the established range.
•
If the potentiometer signal is under the minimum threshold: a voltage of the minimum limit
stop (closed valve) was detected outside the established range.
•
If excessive duration: an excessive duration for the stopper search (potential mechanical
problem of he valve, of the motor or cables not connected) was detected.
•
Search not executed: this symptom may occur if the stop position self-acquisition procedure
is not performed after installing a new instrument cluster, or if the travel between the mini-
mum and maximum stop positions is too short or too long.
The presence of this error is signalled by the fixed lighting of the general warning light.
Troubleshooting:
•
If the potentiometer signal is above the maximum threshold: during the "Exhaust valve self-
learning" setting, a maximum opening limit stop voltage was detected outside the estab-
lished range. Check the correct voltage of the two cables of the valve.
•
If the potentiometer signal is under the minimum threshold: during the "Exhaust valve self-
learning" setting, a minimum opening limit stop voltage was detected outside the established
range. Check the correct voltage of the two cables of the valve.
•
If excessive duration: check if the valve cables are energised: if the valve cables are not
powered, connect correctly to power feed, if voltage is correct, check the mechanical oper-
ation of the exhaust valve to ensure that it rotates without impediment or sticking: if not ok,
restore the normal valve rotation; if ok, check the electrical characteristics of the motor: if
not OK, replace the motor, if OK, check the valve connector and the instrument cluster
connector, checking in particular for corrosion: if not OK, repair; if OK, replace the electrical
motor. Also check the condition of the cables.
•
If research not performed or incorrect stroke: perform the procedure "Exhaust butterfly valve
self-acquisition" if the stop position acquisition cycle was not carried out after installing a
new instrument cluster. If the instrument cluster is not new, check that the actuator cables
are adjusted correctly. If adjusted correctly, check for impediments to the mechanical rota-
tion of the valve.
CAUTION
AFTER ANY MAINTENANCE OR INSPECTION OF THE EXHAUST VALVE, ALWAYS CARRY OUT
THE PROCEDURE "ADJUSTING EXHAUST VALVE ACTUATOR CABLE FREE PLAY".
