17.1
Cut a piece of 3/4” triangle stock to be flush with the top
of the leading edge former. Sand the lower edge of the triangle
stock to match the top sheeting. Glue the triangle stock cen-
tered on the leading edge supports.
17.2
Punch out the 1/16” balsa trailing edge former, VF-5, and
glue it into the lower trailing edge slot of the vertical fin assem-
bly.

Punch out the two 1/16” balsa vertical fin side sheeting
VFS. Sand the leading edge at an angle so that when it is mated
with the tri-stock leading edge it will be a flush fit. When satis-
fied with the fit apply CA+ to the leading edge and glue in
place.
17.4
For ease of bending slightly wet the side sheeting. Ap-
ply CA+ to the vertical frame and sides and bend into place.
17.5
Punch out the three ¼” balsa lower vertical fin trailing
edge, VF-TE-1, and glue together. Sand the trailing edge of the
vertical fin flat for a good fit of the trailing edge. Glue with
CA+ when complete.

Punch out the two 1/8” plywood vertical fin mounts,
VFM, and trial fit into place. The tabs fit into the slots of the
trailing edge former, VF-3 with the straight edge facing fore-
word.
