23.1
Punch out the two Tail Wheel Support Brackets from the
1/8 inch lite ply. Drill a 1/16 hole through the 3/8 x 3/8 x ½
spruce block in the center of the block from the square end.
Glue the block to the trailing edge of both tail wheel support
brackets.
23.2
Glue the tail wheel support brackets in the slots provided
in the back of the vertical stabilizer support. Put the tail wheel
through the hole drilled and secure in place with a wheel collar.
23.3
Punch out the 3/32” balsa chin block sheeting, CB-S, and
1/8” Light ply chin block doubler, CB-D. Glue the doubler to
the sheeting by making sure the notches are aligned with the
labeled front edge of the sheeting.
23.4
Punch out the two 1/8” light ply chin block latches, CB-L
and glue into the front notches of the chin block doubler. Pull
out two of the 1/4” x 1/8” magnets and glue into the rear holes
of the chin block doubler.
23.5
Note: This step requires you to make sure you have the
poles of the magnets facing the proper direction. They should
attract the other magnets in the chin block base. When satisfied
glue into the 1/8” ply chin block mount, CB-M. Glue the mount
under the main landing gear tube in the fuselage assembly. You
will need to sand a section of the mount thinner to fit.
23.6
Glue the 1/8” light ply chin block latch parts together
CB-1 and CB-2. Glue the completed assembly to the lower
balsa surface of the chin block sheeting underneath the magnets.
This will give you something to pull the lower sheeting to open
up the hatch.
