Start with building the trailing edge spine. Punch out the
1/4” balsa vertical trailing edge VTE-M, two of 3/32” balsa
filler VTE-2, and two 1/16” VTE-1. Align the holes and edges
and glue one VTE-1 on each side of the trailing edge middle.
Glue one VTE-2 over each VTE-1.

Punch out the 1/8” light ply vertical tail former VTF-1.
Using the provided notch glue the former to the bottom surface
of the vertical fin assembly.

Punch out the 1/8” light ply vertical tail former VTF-2
and glue to the middle notch of the vertical fin assembly. Punch
out the vertical tail former VTF-3 for the 1/8” light ply. Glue to
the upper notch as shown below.

From the 1/4” balsa punch out the two vertical trailing
edge, VTE. Glue one to each side of the vertical trailing edge
middle.

Cut out the two 1/16” balsa vertical fin side VFS-1.
Trial fit the sheeting in the tabs from the vertical tail formers
and see how to bevel the trailing edge so that it matches the
vertical trailing edge. When satisfied glue the trailing edge in
place. Once the glue has dried glue the sheeting to the rest of
the formers. Set the assembly aside for the moment.
17.12
From the 1/8” light ply punch out the two vertical fin
teeth, VFT. Using the laser etched marked area, glue one to
each inside surface of the side sheeting.
